Louis Comfort Tiffany (1848–1933) was born in New York City on February 18, 1848, to Harriet Olivia Young and Charles Lewis Tiffany, the founder of Tiffany & Co. Working in nearly all media available to artists and designers of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, he would become the seminal artist of America’s Gilded Age.
The Driehaus Museum‘s inaugural exhibition of the artist’s work, Louis Comfort Tiffany: Treasures from the Driehaus Collection, opened on September 28, 2013.
In my role as the museum’s Writer & Web Editor from 2011-13, in collaboration with the exhibition curator and museum staff, I:
- Created content and led design strategy of the exhibition microsite
- Wrote/edited exhibition panels and object labels
- Wrote artist biography
- Produced all promotional copy for website, brochures, related public programs, event invitations, membership promotions, and other collateral related to the exhibition
- Collated research and provided edits and feedback as member of project team for an exhibition-audio guide by Acoustiguide, Inc.
